Mobile Broadband from NetworkManager
The NetworkManager in Fedora 12 supports searching and selection of available GSM mobile networks. It also shows the signal strength of the mobile network you are currently connected to.
Command Not Found
This functionality allows command line users to automatically install missing commands, or in case you are typing it wrong it suggests spelling replacements. The package PackageKit-command-not-found makes this possible. This package is available for Fedora 11 but is not installed by default. Ubuntu use this feature by default
Linux Fest held on Oct 2
Linux Fest, a joint effort of the FOSSCell, NITC and Computer Science & Engineering Association (CSEA), was successfully conducted in Aryabhatta Hall on October 2, 2009.
In the fest, topics ranging from 'What is FOSS/Linux', 'Installation procedure of Ubuntu', 'the graphical desktop', 'available graphical software', 'basic terminal commands', to 'the basics of shell scripting' were covered by the speakers: Pabitra Kumar Padhy & Varun Rajan (both S7 CSE).
